Where to put marker dots for 13ed3 (BP)?
« on: December 17, 2013, 12:09:06 PM »

Please suggest dot patterns for 13ed3 (Bohlen Pierce) guitar. At the moment I'm thinking double dot on the 13th fret and single dots something like 3, 6, 9 or 4, 7, 10, or 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 or 2, 4, 6, 8, 10.

Hm ... I'm not into BP scales, but if I had to make a decision, I'd probably go for 3 6 7 10 (focus on important ratios), or maybe 3 5 8 10 (focus on balanced distribution).

The first one might look kind of interesting, having a vertical double dot for the tritave, a "horizontal double dot" for frets 6 and 7, and a single dot right between them.

Do you have a specific string tuning in mind?
E.g., if most strings are tuned 3 steps apart, it would make sense to include dots 3 and 10, to represent the unison with the subsequent string, and the tritave above the former string, respectively.
