New video! Hyper-layered microtonal madness within.
« on: August 21, 2012, 06:41:09 AM »

I've just completed a new music video, created in collaboration with editor Vin Deluca (http://www.vindeluca.com) and a dead bohemian by the name of Berthold Bartosch. Check it out:

The music was made strictly with mostly microtonal guitars, some standard guitars, a fretless bass, and an Ashbory. No midi, no keys, no synths - all sounds were generating starting with a stringed instrument. Any questions?

Please feel free to share the hell out of this on your social networking site of choice.

Very nice! I can't help but get a psuedo Pink Floyd vibe from this. I like that you created this without any midi/synth, etc..I feel there is a need for more xenharmonic music performed in this fashion. That is usually how I perform my music as well.

Thanks for bringing this up, Zach, I enjoyed listening to this song I had almost forgotten about!

In case you're interested, you can listen to (or buy) the full album here. There's also an older thread about it. Apparently, Benjamin used "regular" microtonal guitars, a guitar with equidistant frets, and a fretless bass.

Cool, bookmarked it...thanks! I remember seeing his post about the guitar with the equidistant frets and one fretted in 15&12edo (ie 60edo subset)...that's wild
